Scope and Contents note
This collection contains papers relating to Taylor's military service, including memos regarding transfers, promotions, and assignments, letters of recommendation, evaluations, records of vaccinations, pay, reimbursements, and certificates of recognition. An accompanying scrapbook contains newspaper headlines and clippings, telegrams and letters from Taylor, photographs of him in the army and of his wife at home, some photographs and ephemera from vacations, and occasional annotations by Julia Taylor. Taylor's Birmingham Country Club membership certificate is also included.

Biographical/Historical note
LTC Frank M. Taylor attended the University of Alabama and was the ROTC Senior Cadet Colonel and Brigade Commander in 1935. He entered active duty in the US Army on November 25, 1941. From 1941 to 1946 he served in the 57th Q.M. Regiment, 176th Ord. Batallion, 4th Regiment, 15th Ord, 5th and 36th. He served at the Panama Canal Headquarters and attended Command and General Staff School at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was released from active duty on March 6, 1946. He lived in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife, Julia Mae Watkins Taylor.
