Biographical/Historical note
Dr. William Patton was born September 2, 1794. Jesse Spencer (1759-1836) of Maryland, North Carolina and Pickens from Greene County, Alabama. William Patton married Elizabeth Steele, daughter of Alexander Steele, connecting the two families. There does not appear to be a correlation to the Spencer and Nicholls documents.
