Biographical / Historical
Jefferson Franklin Jackson was born November 23, 1821, near Clayton, Barbour County, (at the time a part of Pike County), Alabama. He married Eleanor Clark Noyes (1823-?) on February 2, 1849. They had four children. He was a lawyer, a Whig in politics, and a Presbyterian. On April 21, 1856 he was admitted as an attorney and counselor of the U.S. Court of Claims at Washington. He died in Montgomery, Alabama, March 27, 1862. William Noyes Jackson (?-?) was involved in real estate transactions and also worked in a dry goods store in Tampa, Florida. He married Lucy E. Marks, daughter of Dr. Benjamin Rush Jones. Charles Whiting Jackson married Sallie Lillian Hart of Eufaula and had two children. Franklin Winston Jackson lived in Texas. He died on November 21, 1914. Ellen Madeline (Nell or Nellie) died in Montgomery, Alabama on November 4, 1904.
