Georgia Census 1850 and 1860
Scope and Contents
This collection is made up of handwritten census records for counties in Georgia. Records contain information on numbers of slaves, acres of improved and unimproved land, and value of farms, with summary information provided for some counties. Counties recorded in 1850 are Elbert, Franklin, Floyd, Forsyth, Gilmer, Greene, Gordon, Hall, Harris, Heard, Henry, and Houston. Counties recorded in 1860 are Floyd, Forsyth, Franklin, Gilmer, Glynn, Gordon, Hall, Harris, Heard, Houston, Lowndes, and Montgomery.
