Scope and Contents
Collection consists of one photographic album with sixty-two photographs of James Harry Cowan, a University of Alabama student from 1915 - 1918. Scenes include University athletes and sporting events, pre-game activities in front of Woods Hall, in Birmingham and Rickwood Park. Also contains newspaper clippings and memorabilia. The collection contains one card printed on one side with The University of Alabama Alma Mater and on the reverse side the song "God Save, Keep, and Hold Our Men," a postcard written to Cowan while at The University of Alabama, and a newspaper clipping regarding three former University of Alabama baseball players that were having success in the major leagues.
