The collection contains a paper prepared for University of Alabama History 460 (?), Introduction to Historical Research and Writing, taught by Dr. Gary B. Mills. The paper is an inventory of public records in the Cherokee County, Alabama, courthouse, located in the town of Centre. The courthouse burned in 1882 destroying records predating the fire; the paper covers records from the period 1882-1930. The records are located in the probate office and in the archives room.
