John Cochran Diary, 1838 - 1846
Scope and Contents note
This collection consists of three bound volumes, one of which contains John Cochran's diary, 1838-1846 (not continuous), another Mary Wellborn Cochran's journal, 1845-1847, and the third a miscellany of copies of some of John Cochran's outgoing correspondence, 1839-1841, some journal entries of his, 1847-1849, and copies of some freedman contracts to which he was party, 1868-1870. Also includes two unidentified photographs that appear to be from the early twentieth century.
