Scope and Contents
Created by an unidentified French man, this photo album documents his trip that started Marseille, France on the Desirade. The bespoke album, with its engraved title on the spine, includes hand-written captions in French, as well as Asian art, all in yellow ink. The photos show and identify his companions, many of whom appear to be in the military. Photos document the journey through the Suez Canal to Sri Lanka, Philippines, Djibouti, China, Singapore, and Vietnam. Images depict various cultural and natural sites along the voyage.
The album is 14 1/8" x 10 7/8" and contains 350 images.
