Photographic Album Depicting Brazil and Argentina, 1893 September

 Item — Box: 2021.004

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection contains one photographic album containing fifty black-and-white images depicting Lisbon Harbor, Brazil, and Argentina. The images feature two copper mines in the Catamarca region of Argentina, one owned by Samuel Lafone Quevedo and the other owned by Adolfo Carranza; as well as a sugar plantation owned by Alfredo Guzman. Other images depict various members of the Blamey family and the natural landscape of Argentina. The album appears to have been a gift from Henry (potentially Henry Davis Hoskold, author of Official report upon the mines, mining, metallurgy and mining laws, etc. etc. of the Argentine republic) to Jessie M. Dalton in September of 1893.
