Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection consists of one photographic album containing 124 silver gelatin prints from a trip to Mexico City and the surrounding area in the early 1900s by an unknown, presumably American, photographer. Most of the images document the vacation party's journey through Mexico City, which include photographs of outdoor markets, restaurants, and storefronts, as well as landmarks such as the Cuauhtémoc statue, the Paseo de la Reforma, the Caballito monument, Zocalo, and the Catholic Cathedral. There are also images depicting bullfights and the canal district, Xochimilco.
