Scope and Contents

These files contain business correspondence and financial and legal records of the Moreman family, fruit farmers in Florida. The records include checks, receipts, invoices, legal documents, and handwritten contracts as well as newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and other materials related to the fruit farming business. The documents span from 1878-1914. Correspondence is about land seized and sold for taxes, account charges, and interest on loans. The materials also include reports from the Florida Fruit Exchange and prescriptions for rheumatism medication and blistering ointment.
