Lou Wright Letter, 1867 October 4
Scope and Contents
This file contains a letter from Lou Wright of Logansport, Indiana, to John G. Lenny(?) of Madison, Indiana, discussing a contract between Wright and two other people, Colby and Mrs. Emerson. Wright explains that Mrs. Emerson has requested payment outside the plan arranged within the contract for property Wright had purchased. He asks that Lenny speak with Mrs. Emerson and explain what he can and is willing to pay. Wright ends the letter, saying, "The letter of Mrs. Emerson was written by a lawyer the language shows that and I hope she is more of a lady than to be made the catspaw of some black-hearted villain."
