Biographical / Historical

According to a December 1, 1991, article called "Adventist writes poem for national poster" in an issue of the Visitor, an Adventist newsletter: "Tommye Nious, a member of the Ephesus church in Columbus, Ohio, recently had a poem that she authored published on a national poster featuring the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Her God-given writing talent is well known in the Ephesus church, where she has written numerous poems for various occasions and church functions. She was commissioned by Lucius Sullivan, also a member of Ephesus, to write a poem with the theme of how God used Dr. King to help change the course of history. Nious's husband and three children rejoiced with her upon seeing the 16 by 20 inch poster with her poem and name on it. She hopes that now more of her writings will be published, circling the globe so that her message of love, comfort, hope and encouragement may direct others to the love of Jesus, who is her inspiration."
