(Emma) Smith of Tyrone Mills, California, from her mother in Peoria, Illinois, telling Emma about her brother's possible intentions toward a young lady and that she disapproves of the prospect. Her mother also gives her approval to Emma's plans to not exchange gifts at Christmas.
