Lorraine Hanson Correspondence, 1943 - 1945
Scope and Contents
This collection contains fourteen letters and one receipt written to Lorraine Hanson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The receipt is for payment of rent to Lily Magness, and one letter is from a stranger. The other letters come from family and friends who are fighting overseas in World War Two. Most conversation is brief and reflects a desire for the war to be over and life to return to normal. There is speculation as to what the future might hold.

Biographical / Historical
From 1943 to 1945 Lorraine Hanson of Minneapolis, Minnesota receives letters from members of the United States Army and Navy who are fighting in World War Two. Richard Hanson was a soldier in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the South Pacific during the war. Leroy Howes was a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He was eventually sent to Belgium where he was promoted to Sergeant.
