This collection consists of eleven letters from Clifford J. (“Cliff”) Granos, Boston and England, to his wife, Ruth Granos, Chicago, Illinois.The dates of these letters are from 8 November 1943 to 26 December 1943. The first letter dated 8 November 1943, is written on Boston Young Men’s Christian Association, Huntington Avenue Branch, stationery, where he is at the time of this letter. Nine of the letters are written in England while he is in the hospital with pneumonia. He writes about his sickness. The last letter, dated 26 December 1943, states that he is released from the hospital and is in a different company. He writes about how he spent his Christmas in England and English pubs.
