Scope and Contents

One photographic album containing images taken by and featuring Mary Louise Fell (1913-1979) daughter of Rufus Cobb and Margretta Fell. Fell lived in and near Birmingham, Alabama, throughout her life, attending Norwood School, Phillips High School, and Birmingham Southern College. She married John William Hamilton Jr. on 26 December 1936. Images depict Fell and various friends and relatives, as well as scenes from the Birmingham, Alabama, area in the 1920s. In addition to photographs, there are also a number of newspaper clippings collected by Fell. While most images remain attached to the pages of the album in the order intended by Fell, eighteen loose images from the album have been placed in an envelope accompanying the album.
