Correspondence to Ruth Auerbach - January-September 1944
Content Description
Over 530 letters, primarily from Auerbach to his wife Ruth Shedlarz Auerbach, written - almost daily - while he was in the US Navy during World War II. There are a few post cards from him to his in-laws, as well as incoming correspondence to Ruth from other friends and family. There is a pencil sketch - presumably of Auerbach in that he sent it to Ruth with the note "Done by 'one of the boys'. What do you think of it?" (May 10, 1945) and also a small "photo booth" size photograph of a young woman that is possibly Ruth. There are also several poems written by Auerbach included.
