"The Amazing Mrs. Pember" by Bell I. Wiley
Scope and Contents
The collection contains one article written by Bell I. Wiley, as well as a variety of reprinted and clipped articles from various journals, magazines, and newspapers. There are also bibliographical and general notes discussing the Civil War from many angles, including medical, literary, restitution, and even specific battles and generals. Several of the reprints are inscribed to him by the authors. A photocopy of Wiley's article about Mrs. Phoebe Yates Pember, the hospital matron of the Confederate Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, describes her efforts on behalf of the wounded of Chimborazo Hospital, commonly known as "Hospital 2" in reports.
