This collection contains two ledgers and approximately seventy-five vouchers written by the Montgomery, Alabama, Mechanics' Hook and Ladder Company.
The vouchers, dated between 1897 and 1899, document the company's purchases and include requests for payments to the Mongtomery Journal, the Montgomery Advertiser, and the Highland Park Green House. The small ledger records the company's account with the Capital City Insurance Company and includes entries from April 1889 to January 1899. The larger ledger documents the company's general expenses, containing entries from June 1864 to January 1899.
