Scope and Contents
This commonplace book includes handwritten entries addressing a number of religious topics, including church politics, theological concerns, childrearing practices, and slavery. Notable entries include "Thoughts on Slavery," "Strength of Character," and "Man's Responsibility to God." Although this manuscript is undated, included quotations suggest that the book was compiled in the 1840s and 1850s. The owner and compiler is unknown.
