Liquor Trade in Alabama
Scope and Contents
This series contains correspondence, financial records, legal documents, and newspaper clippings related to Alabama history compiled by Brannon. The materials, dating from 1819 to 1964, include items form Baldwin, Bullock, DeKalb, Washington, and Wilcox counties.
Notable topics include: banking in Alabama; the development of Old St. Stephens Historical Park; the racehorse John Bascom; the proper spelling of Tuscaloosa; and the history of pharmacies. The collection also includes a petition and deed filed in Wilcox County and a catalog of Brannon's archaeological collection.
