This collection chronicles the family history and stories of Charles Evans Humphries, beginning in Columbus, Mississippi, in 1841, with his paternal grandfather, Captain William Washington "Buck" Humphries Jr. A significant portion of the book is made up of genealogical information on the Humphries and related families, including the Banks and the Colemans. Included in each family section are family "stories" that have been passed down through the generations.
