Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The collection contains records, scrapbooks, and photographs of The Other Club, a debate society on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, that encourages discussion "in a mature and academic atmosphere." Its members include some of the most well-known on campus whose diverse backgrounds contribute to its prestige. Named after a dinner and debate society in London, England, founded by Winston Churchill in 1911, the club at UA is actually modeled after the Arnold and Brackenbury Society at Balliol College in Oxford University.
