Scope and Contents

From the Collection: This collections contains the papers of Alabama author and publisher, Jeanie Thompson. It includes drafts of her poetry, her Master's thesis and books How to Enter the River, Witness, and Litany for a Vanishing Landscape. Also, there are materials relating to her professional life including correspondence with publishers and other writers, materials from readings, as well as schedules and correspondence relating to the exhibit and book Litany of a Vanishing Landscape.

The works of her friends and fellow writers are included along with the journals in which the works appeared. The journals where Thompson's works were published are also included.

Restrictions

There are no special restrictions placed on access to the Jeani Thompson papers, although literary and copyrights to her published and unpublished writings have not been granted to the W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library and remain the property of the author and her heirs. While all materials are available for research, the materials collected for her "view book" may be used (i.e. viewed or copied) only with the author's permission.
