This series is divided into the following subseries: Accounts Payable; Accounts Receivable; Bankbooks, Cancelled Checks, Check Stubs; Cash Books; General and Accounting; Inventory; Invoices; Market Records; Memoranda and Office Blotters; Orders and Purchase Orders; Payroll and Timebooks; Personnel/Labor; Receipts; Requisitions; Statements of Accounts and Comparative Statements; Vouchers; and Miscellaneous. Shelby Iron Company maintained records for these various areas and functions in large ledgers, often identifying them as "general ledgers" or "general accounting ledgers"; these may be found in the General and Accounting subseries.
