From the Collection:

This collection consists of 176 photographs depicting road construction in Alabama. Images include construction, work crews, convict labor, bridges, train trestles, flooding of Tombigbee River, January 1949, and Black Warrior river, March 1951, erosion, and ferries at Coosa River and Mitchell Dam. Geographic areas represented are Tuscaloosa County, Gainesville, Fayette County, Selma, and Demopolis.
