From the Series: This series contains outgoing correspondence, incoming correspondence, and biographical information on John Mathews Manly. The outgoing correspondence is arranged chronologically, and the incoming correspondence is arranged alphabetically by author's last name. The outgoing correspondence is primarily to his mother, Mary Mathews Manly. It also includes letters from Will that are related to the Manly Drive Company, founded by Charles Manly, Jr.; an addendum; and a biographical sketch of John Mathews Manly written by Robert Morss Lovett, published in The Circle, January 1924 by the University of Chicago.
