Lawyer, State representative and State senator of South Bend, Indianapolis, and Southport, Indiana. Father of Margaretta L. Liston who married F.M. Kirksey. Included are both incoming and outgoing personal correspondence and his business papers.
Outgoing Correspondence: Letters to his wife, Margaretta Lucretia Liston, his daughters, Margaretta Liston Kirksey and Mary Todd Liston, and other members of the family. Includes one letter relative to the reinterment of his daughter Mary.
Incoming Correspondence: By and about S.J. Nunnelee, a resident of Greene County, Alabama, a prisoner of war at Camp Chase, Ohio, and friend of Jonathan Allen Liston's daughter, Mary Todd Liston. Also included are miscellaneous letters from family and friends.
