Correspondence, papers, and ledgers relation to Foster Mark Kirksey's business enterprises as well as four partnerships in which he was involved.
Misc. Business Papers: Includes a wager made by J. M. K. against himself in the 1845 Greene County sheriff's race.
E.K. Carlisle: Concerning E.K.C.'s brokerage services to J.M.K.
Harry Mason: To his former guardian, Foster Mark Kirksey, including a letter in which he asks advice and assistance in the sale of his plantation.
Misc. Correspondence: Includes a letter form R. Searcy denying that he authorized the shooting on one of Foster Mark Kirksey's mules who wandered on his plantation, and a letter from V.A. Kelley to David Butler.
Misc. Printed Material: Associated with Foster Mark Kirksey's business. Includes business solicitations from firms in Chicago, Louisville and Cincinnati, as well as market and exchange reports from Mobile and New York.
Kirksey, Sheppard and Bray: Contains correspondence relative to the organization of the firm and a receipt.
Sears and Kirksey: Contains accounts and deposition relative to a lawsuit between the partners.
Kirksey and Carpenter: Accounts, deeds held by the firm and 2 letters from J.N. Carpenter to Foster Mark Kirksey, as well as 9 volumes of the firm's records are included. Vol. 1869-75 filed with Dew & Kirksey & on reel 15.
