Correspondence with Francis Scott Key

Letter Books, 1844-1869, as well as letters to Priscilla T. Jemison, 1835-1869 and from Jefferson Davis. There are also business letters to A.C. Hargrove (Jemison's son-in-law), correspondence with Francis Scott Key and Henry Clay, and other business correspondence from 1840-1871. The collection also contains business papers concerning the Monitor, the Columbus Draw Bridge Co., Warrior Manufacturing, his partnership with Fletcher Sloan, and proclamations freeing his slaves as the end of the Civil War and regarding the state of the plantation after the Army commandeered livestock and stores. There are also files of correspondence and business accounts for Priscilla T. Jemison (wife), Cherokee Jemison (daughter), and Robert Jemison, Jr. (IV) (great-nephew?).
