Scope and Contents
The album contains twenty-six silver gelatin photographs of students (mostly from the class of 1859) and faculty of The University of Alabama. The album contains the oldest known photograph of The University of Alabama campus. Taken from upstairs at the President's Mansion, the photograph shows part of the original campus, including the Rotunda, which was burned by Union forces on April 4, 1865.
