This collection consists of a letter dated October 19, 1847, from W. G. Hann to Thompson M. Parish of Lake Providence, Louisiana, agreeing to Parish's proposal to take Lucy, an enslaved person belonging to Hann, in lieu of payment for a debt, if that debt is as much as $500, Hann being uncertain of the exact amount since his books are not with him.
