The collection contains a series of typed letters sent to family and friends by this Mobile, Alabama, resident describing his and his immediate family's experiences during and following Hurricane Frederick, which hit Mobile, September 12-13, 1979. The letters are dated September 19, 20, 21, October 3, 9, November 7, December 10, 1979, and January 25, February 15, 25, March 7, 31, May 13, June 10, 1980.
