The collection contains five documents relating to James Collier Foster, including: his license to practice law in Mississippi in 1842; his election as captain of the Rural Guards in Tuscaloosa in 1861; his Warrant of Pardon signed by President Andrew Johnson on September 12, 1865; his acknowledgement of the President's Warrant; and the certification of a true copy of the Warrant on file in the State Department.
