Biographical / Historical
During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) many companies expanded to South America to develop new buyer markets and export manufacturing to localities abroad. Myrurgia, a Spanish perfume maker launched in the first quarter of the twentieth century, quickly sought expansion to South America through Argentina. Falcon & Cia, a Buenos Aires based distributor, became that distribution point. Falcon & Cia.'s offices were located in the Retiro neighborhood, blocks away from the Palacio Estrugamou, a landmark residential building. The offices were designed in Art Deco style but lacking in ornamental decorative pieces, which exemplify the state of economics prior to the onset of World War II.
