Biographical / Historical
Beasey S. Hendrix Jr. (1929–2005) was a historian and genealogist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, known for his extensive research on the Hendrix/Henrix family lineage and the history of Civil War soldiers from Tuscaloosa County. Born and educated in Tuscaloosa, he attended Tuscaloosa City Schools before earning both a B.S. and M.S. from The University of Alabama.
Hendrix served in the U.S. Army and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service. His passion for local history and genealogy led him to author Tuskaloosa's Own, a detailed account of the county’s Civil War soldiers, and Old Cemetaries of Tuscaloosa, a comprehensive documentation of historic burial sites. His work remains a valuable resource for historians and genealogists.
