Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The collection contains an autograph album with scripiture and floral illustrations. Although the album bears the inscription (front and back fly leaves) "Mary Iwanna Garnett's Album, Presented by Priscilla D. Kimbrough, February 26, 1871", many autographs inside the album are to Miss P.D.W. (Priscilla D. Willing Kimbrough) and are dated in the mid-1850s. There are several autographs inscribed to Mrs. Iwanna Thompson; all of these are dated in the late 1880s, which leads one to think that Mrs. Kimbrough (nee Willing) gave the album to Miss Garnett in 1871, and Mrs. Iwanna Thompson (nee Garnett) used it after that time.
